Hi everyone,

"If you want to go fast, go alone.  If you want to go far, go together"  is an African proverb that probably best summarises the evolution and unfolding journey of the Global Safeguarding Collaborative (GSC).  As the Designated Safeguarding Lead at a small school in the southwestern African country of Angola, I've learned how important it is to seek out support in this critically important work of safeguarding students.  I have also experienced how difficult it can be to make these vital connections due to financial constraints, logistical difficulties, and lack of access to resources.

Never more so than now, the health and safety of all students is my number one priority.  In starting the Global Safeguarding Collaborative, my intention was to reduce barriers to connecting educators charged with protecting students across time differences and large physical distances.  Using my 20+ years of experience in educational leadership, I've attempted to create a dynamic organisation that facilitates connections, exchanges of ideas, and offers of assistance - all towards the goal of keeping students safe.

I welcome any and all feedback on what you see and think of the Collaborative.  Please reach out to me directly at jonah@globalsafeguardingcollaborative.org or via WhatsApp at +244 949 951 990.

Thank you again for visiting our site and please do be in touch with any questions.  I look forward to collaborating with you in the future.

Appreciatively,

Jonah

I want to thank Matt Kish, Director of Learning at the United School of Tokyo, for developing the GSC logo above. Matt's volunteering of his time and creative energy to benefit the group is a model of what I hope this Collaborative becomes over time.

Thank you, Matt, for your incredible contribution. I am deeply grateful to you for this and for your generosity.
